Heat pumps as aggregates for heating and cooling

It is often the case that an industrial plant has a simultaneous need for heating and cooling.

It is typical for the brewing industry that the cooling system works with a large amount of glycol as a secondary medium for the transfer of cooling energy. Due to its volume, this system enables the cooling energy storage. The heat pumps are set up to take heat from the glycol and transfer it to the central hot water heating system.

In this way, the overall efficiency of the heat pump is significantly increased (TER)

Examples

Heat pumps are installed as a parallel system to the existing heating system.
