Project for heating anaerobic treatment of wastewater treatment plant using heat pumps

Wastewater treatment plants that have an integrated anaerobic reactor (biogas production) require continuous heating to maintain technological conditions for the development of anaerobic microorganisms.

The temperature in anaerobic treatment should be around 30oC.

The temperature of processed wastewater ranges between 15– 25oC which represents a relatively high energy potential.

The heat pumps are installed, to take heat from treatedwastewater and transfer it to water in anaerobic treatment.

The heat pump plant was added as a parallel hot water heating system to the existing hot water gas boiler.
